I’m writing this on the last day of a massive blizzard in the middle of April. There are a lot of things that could be said about that but I’ll leave it at this: I’ve been doing a lot of reminiscing about the good ‘ol days when Spring was a real thing. My thought trails reminded me of this session that I did with Lauren last May that I realized I’d never shared here on the blog!
Lauren is an incredible makeup artist living in New York City. She also is a curve model and is re-entering the world of modeling now with a totally new mindset: read about her incredible journey here (seriously, she is incredibly strong and resilient!) Since we shoot at least once a year together, we try to accomplish new looks/feels each time. In the past we’ve focused on full body, curve model realness, striking and dramatic headshots, and most recently, beauty focused editorial looks (that hasn’t hit the blog yet – but oh boy, it’s good.) For this shoot we wanted to punch up Lauren’s modeling portfolio with some more soft, commercial looks.
We spent the majority of the shoot at St. Anthony Main, one of my favorite locations in Minneapolis. We also stopped by Spyhouse Coffee in Northeast Minneapolis and shot some photos there. Here are some of my favorites!
