Oh, where to begin? Kirk and Callie had the most beautiful, emotional wedding day in September. I feel lucky to have been there, photographing it all!
The day began in Wayzata, where the bridesmaids and Callie hung out in their matching robes before slipping into their dresses! It was overcast and chilly, making it easy for us to shoot anywhere (no harsh sun to deal with) but tricky to stay warm while doing it! Callie chose a gorgeous low-back gown designed by Eddy K from Che Bella. She is so tall and beautiful she could have rocked a paper bag and looked amazing, so you know she completely slayed the dress! Kirk and his guys looked dapper in dark blue suits (and yes…MN Vikings socks!)
After an emotional first look with her dad, Callie headed to the backyard to see Kirk for the first time! You guys, these two first looks were some of my favorite I’ve ever photographed. So much love, so much thankfulness and acknowledgement of what an amazing day it was!
Wooddale Church in Edina was the perfect location for their Christ-centered ceremony, and Oak Ridge Hotel and Conference Center was totally decked out with gorgeous florals and centerpieces by Matt at Chenoweth Floral.
I honestly could ramble about how much I loved this day forever, but I wanted Callie and Kirk to be able to share about it from their perspectives instead!
Callie said “My favorite part of the day was my first look with my dad and with Kirk! I have never kept a secret from either of them for more than 2 days… so keeping my dress from them for several months was just about the hardest thing ever! I don’t think I’ll ever be able to put into words how overwhelming and beautiful the moment of the first look was!”
Kirk said “My favorite part of the day was the first dance with my bride. I loved this moment because everything seemed to slow down.
Together, they shared that the “most meaningful moment was looking out into the church congregation during our ceremony and seeing the mass amounts of people. All there for us. People that loved and supported us. It was overwhelming . We also LOVED seeing the venue when we first arrived.. we didn’t exactly know how it was all going to turn out because my mom and family/ friends planned a lot of the wedding and put everything together. The final product was better than we could have ever dreamed or imagined! It was also a small day maker to have donuts on our most important day ever!”
