John & Annie tied the knot this past Saturday on an absolutely beautiful sunny afternoon in Buffalo, MN. Their small ceremony & reception were both held on family property, giving the already special day another layer of personalization. The entire day was very relaxed and I felt more like a guest than a vendor (maybe due to the fact that I’ve hung around with Annie’s extended family since early high school!)
For John & Annie, this was a long awaited day full of joy, promises, and the uniting of families. Annie’s two sons walked her down the aisle and John’s daughter was front row holding Annie’s bouquet when it came time to exchange rings. The amount of love and support from their family and friends was tangible as they made their vows to each other (and I’m not sure there was a dry eye there!) After their beautiful ceremony, guests mingled and ate snacks until it was time for an absolutely delicious dinner! Annie’s sister Wendy transformed a former high-school hangout space on her property into a stunning reception venue with twinkle lights galore, fresh flowers, and photos from Annie & John’s engagement session. After dinner, Annie and John had their first dance (ever, turns out!) under the lights with friends from church providing live music well into the evening.
THANK YOU to the newlyweds for choosing me to capture such a special day for you and your families. It was an honor to be there and I wish you two all the best! You know you’ve thrown a great party when your photographer finishes her on-duty hours and hangs out for a few more, just for fun 🙂
Here are some of my favorite photos to tell the story of the day…
